Yoshi Woolly World Unlockable Costumes

New Retail Releases: State of Decay 2 Ultimate Edition, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, Dragon’s Crown Pro, More

We’re coming around again on a lot of great new games this week, but first, Microsoft and Undead Labs have teamed up for a second time to bring us State of Decay 2 for the Xbox One. The zombie survival simulation includes cooperative multiplayer for up to four players, and the “Ultimate Edition” comes bundled with its predecessor, State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition.

Mar 29, 2019  Yoshi's Crafted World All Costumes (185) & how to get them is shown in this gameplay video on Nintendo Switch with Abdallah's Family-Friendly Commentary in HD 1080p 60 fps.

But if you’re looking to replay an old favorite, or try it out for the first time in a spiffy new edition, there’s plenty of choices to be had…

Nintendo will re-release Hyrule Warriors for the Switch in a special Definitive Edition that includes everything from the action-packed Wii U game (Hyrule Warriors), as well as the bonus contest from the subsequent 3DS re-release (Hyrule Warriors Legends), and a pair of new costumes for Link and Zelda from Breath of the Wild.

  2. Yoshi Wooly World vs Crafted World. In addition, I really didn't like the costume designs at all. I mean in Wooly World you had different skins referencing stuff like the gamecube and other amiibo costumes. Where in Crafted world you turn into a tank with costumes on. I Where Crafted World would force you to replay levels to get all of.

Atlus is also upgrading one of their biggest titles from the previous generation, and the publisher will bring Dragon’s Crown Pro to the PS4 this week. The updated side-scrolling brawler will include English and Japanese audio options, as well as a newly recorded soundtrack, support for 4K visuals, and all previously-released downloadable content.

Atlus is also pulling the same trick on the 3DS this week with the launch of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. The DS RPG has been upgraded with new story content, additional endings, and a new dungeon to explore.

Other games with new homes this week include THQ Nordic’s Battle Chasers: Nightwar (the RPG moving to the Switch), Red Star’s Hello Kitty Kruisers (the kart racer is also coming to the Switch), and IO Interactive’s Hitman: Definitive Edition (all previously-released content is now available in a single package for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Yoshi’s Woolly World is out in Europe on Friday (Americans will have to wait until October for it). Now the review embargo‘s passed I can tell you it’s one of the most beautiful, charming games you’ll play this generation.

One of my favourite features in in the game is the ability to unlock unique costumes (well, wool patterns) for Yoshi by scanning amiibo figures on the Wii U GamePad at any time.

When you scan one, Yoshi’s wool colour changes so he looks like the character you scanned. This costume is then unlocked for good and selectable at any point (meaning you can scan a friend’s amiibo, as with the Mario Kart 8 costumes).

As someone who’s a bit of an amiibo addict, I’ve scanned every single one released in Europe to date, except for the Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl from Splatoon. Turns out they all work, except for the Pokemon ones (which I’d imagine is down to The Pokemon Company not wanting its characters involved in that way).

Below, then, is what almost every Yoshi design looks like when you scan the corresponding amiibo.

Now, I’d love to have put together a massive image gallery which would have looked all lovely, or put together a compilation video like others are doing, but I’m also a strong believer in not spoiling surprises for people and there’s a chance you have some amiibo but not others, and so only want to see what Yoshi looks like for the amiibo you don’t have.

Because of this, I’ve gone for a simple list instead. Click the character name to see a picture of the amiibo. It’s a more boring way of presenting it, but it’s also a safer way.

There are four new amiibo released in the UK on Friday: Palutena, Dark Pit, Zero Suit Samus and Ganondorf. I’ve got them on order so when they turn up I’ll add them to this list.

Reminder: It should go without saying that these could be considered spoilers. If you have any of these amiibo, I’d recommend not clicking their pictures so you can have the excitement of scanning them and discovering the costume yourself.

Finally, you may know that there’s also a special Yarn Yoshi amiibo coming out that generates a second Yoshi if you scan it. But what happens if you scan a normal Yoshi amiibo instead? Again, consider this a spoiler warning, but observe.
